Manage corporate buyers and approvals

What does this do for me?

Corporate accounts let a parent company add subsidiary buyers with their own purchasing limits and an approval workflow before an order becomes a draft. It requires the Premium plan.

Add a subsidiary buyer

  1. Open Corporate accounts. If the plan does not include it, a banner titled Premium feature explains Premium is required for subsidiary buyers, limits, and approval workflows. Current plan: <plan>.
  2. Under Add subsidiary buyer, in Buyer identity, choose a Parent company, paste the Shopify customer ID, and optionally add a Buyer email (optional).
  3. In Purchase controls, choose a Role of Buyer, Approver, or Admin, set a Purchasing limit (optional), and tick Require approval for every order if needed.
  4. Save the buyer.
Existing buyers appear in Subsidiary buyers with columns Customer, Company, Role, Limit, and Approval. A missing limit reads No limit, and approval cells show Required or Limit only.

Work the approval queue

  1. In Approval queue, each pending order shows an Approval <id> card with its status.
  2. Choose Approve to allow the order, or Reject and confirm with Reject approval.
  3. When the checkout outcome needs confirmation, choose Confirm draft. The banner Confirm the checkout outcome before closing this approval. explains the step.

Notes

  • A buyer over their limit or flagged for approval gets an approval request instead of a created draft order.
  • When no orders are waiting, the queue reads No orders are waiting for approval.
  • On plans without the feature, the buyers area reads Subsidiary buyers appear here on the Premium plan.
