Set up the theme app embed

What does this do for me?

The theme app embed is required for the consent checkbox to appear on your storefront. This guide walks through activating and configuring it for each theme.

1. Open the theme app extension setup

  1. Open ConsentAI in your Shopify admin.
  2. Scroll to the Theme setup section or expand the Set up another theme disclosure.
  3. Select a theme from the dropdown.
ConsentAI automatically detects the embed status for your live theme. For other themes, open the theme editor to confirm.

2. Activate the app embed

  1. Click Activate app embed to open the Shopify theme editor to the correct location.
  2. In the theme editor, navigate to App embeds.
  3. Find Pcnaid T&C Checkbox and toggle it on.
  4. Click Save.

Template compatibility

The app embed renders on all theme templates. Theme app extensions do not render on Shopify checkout step pages.

3. Deactivate the app embed

  1. Open the Shopify theme editor.
  2. Navigate to App embeds.
  3. Find Pcnaid T&C Checkbox and toggle it off.
  4. Click Save.

4. Check activation on your live theme

After saving in the theme editor, return to ConsentAI. The Storefront status section shows whether the app embed is active. When the embed is active, the dashboard shows a success banner. When the embed is not enabled, a warning banner appears with an Activate in theme link. If clicking the app embed link does not pre-activate the block, navigate manually in the theme editor to App embeds, locate Pcnaid T&C Checkbox, enable it, and save.
