Configure consent settings
What does this do for me?
Set exactly what shoppers see, where the checkbox appears, how it looks, and export consent logs — all from the ConsentAI settings page.1. Open settings
Open ConsentAI from your Shopify admin. The Storefront consent settings section contains all controls.2. Set consent text and links
Use the master toggle to turn the storefront checkbox on or off, then set the text fields below. The checkbox text, link text, and Terms URL are snapshotted into every consent log; the validation error message is shown to shoppers but is not stored.- Enable required T&C consent checkbox — master toggle for the storefront checkbox.
- Checkbox text — the label shoppers read next to the checkbox. This exact text is snapshotted into every consent log.
- Link text — the clickable text for the policy link.
- Terms URL — the policy URL. Enter a relative URL like
/policies/terms-of-serviceor a fullhttps://URL. - Validation error message — the message shown when a shopper tries to check out without agreeing.
3. Choose where to enforce consent
Toggle each checkout surface independently. Premium surfaces are visible but disabled until the required plan is active.4. Customize colors
Set four widget colors:- Text — the consent text color.
- Accent — the link and checkbox accent.
- Background — the widget background.
- Border — the widget border.
5. Custom CSS (Advanced)
With the Advanced plan, paste CSS to style the consent widget. Rules are auto-scoped to the.pcnaid-tnc-wrapper container, so selectors like .pcnaid-tnc-label apply only inside the widget. @import, expression(), javascript:/data: URLs, HTML/script tags, and page-wide selectors (:has(), :root, html, body) are rejected.
6. Multi-language text (Advanced)
With the Advanced plan, add per-language consent copy:- Enter a BCP-47 locale code (e.g.,
fr,es,de,pt-BR). - Click Add language.
- Select the language and fill in the translated checkbox text, link text, terms URL, and error message.
- Shoppers automatically see the text matching their storefront language.
