Set up storefront theme blocks

What does this do for me?

This guide shows you how to add the app’s theme blocks to your storefront so your content, hierarchy, and badges appear for shoppers. It also records storefront activity so the app can detect theme access.

1. Open Theme setup

From the Home screen, select Enable theme blocks or Review theme setup. The Theme setup screen says whether storefront theme block activity has been detected. Note that this status records storefront activity; it does not confirm each embed is currently enabled. Check each toggle in the theme editor.

2. Choose a theme

Choose a theme from the Theme dropdown; the published theme is selected first. App blocks require Online Store 2.0 JSON templates and sections that support app blocks. App blocks are unsupported on vintage Liquid templates. App embeds work with both vintage and Online Store 2.0 themes.

3. Add or activate each block

For each block, the app lists whether it is an App block (placed in a section) or an App embed (activated for the page), shows its settings, and provides an Add {Block} in theme editor or Activate {Block} in theme editor button that opens the right spot in the theme editor. The seven theme extension blocks are:
  • Breadcrumbs — SEO breadcrumbs with customizable separator and styling.
  • Sub-Collections — a grid of child collections with images, descriptions, and product counts.
  • Content Renderer — renders the content blocks you save in the Content Builder.
  • Recently viewed — a browser-local product history grid.
  • Smart Urgency Badges — displays the urgency badges you generate on product pages.
  • Toolkit A/B & Tracking — a storefront collector for A/B experiment ranking and metrics.
  • Market-aware ranking — a storefront embed that applies market-specific ranking to visible collection cards.
Open one block at a time, preview it, then select Save in the theme editor. To use another supported template, select it in the editor and add the block there too. Theme changes are saved separately for each theme.

4. Return to Home

Return to Home to continue setup after adding the blocks.
