# Use the calendar

## What does this do for me?

The calendar shows your household events, bill due dates, maintenance reminders, and subscription renewals in one view.

## Add an event

1. Open **Calendar** in the **Planning** section.
2. Select **Add Event** or tap a date in the calendar grid.
3. Enter the event title, date, time, and optional notes.
4. Select **Add**.

## Understand what you see

The calendar pulls from multiple sources:

* **Events** — events household members create in the calendar.
* **Bills** — bill due dates appear as non-editable occurrences for recurring bills. Edit the source bill in **Bills**.
* **Maintenance** — recurring maintenance reminders appear as calendar items.

## Sync with external calendars

1. Open **Settings** and select the **Integrations** tab.
2. **Google Calendar**: Select Connect, sign in with Google, and choose the HouseholdOS secondary calendar Google creates.
3. **Apple Calendar**: Select **Generate Feed URL**, copy the ICS link, and add it to Apple Calendar as a subscribed calendar.

HouseholdOS pushes events one-way to Google Calendar. Edits made in Google are overwritten on the next sync. The Apple Calendar feed is read-only.
