# Manage entities and locations

> Add, view, and update business entity records and their physical locations in EntityShield.

# Manage entities and locations

## What does this do for me?

The entities page lists every business entity in your account. Each entity can hold locations, permits, governance filings, DBAs, IP assets, and documents.

## Open the entities page

1. Sign in at `entityshield.app`.
2. Select **Entities** in the sidebar.

## View or edit an entity

1. Select an entity from the list to open its detail page.
2. The detail page shows sections for formation details, locations, permits, filings, DBAs, IP assets, documents, and team members.
3. Select **Edit** on any section to update the information.

## Create a new entity

Select **Add Entity** at the top of the entities list. Enter the legal name, entity type, state of formation, formation date, and EIN.

## Manage locations

1. Open an entity detail page.
2. Select the **Locations** tab to see all locations attached to that entity.
3. Select **Add Location** to add a new one. Enter a label, location type, and address.
4. To edit a location, select it from the list and change the fields.

## Delete a location

Open a location detail page and select **Delete**. The application soft-deletes the record.
