# Merchant Documentation

> Set up DelegatedSSL and manage DNS verification for client domains.

# Merchant Documentation

## What does this do for me?

DelegatedSSL helps an agency keep domains and their certificate status in one operations portal. Each domain can carry tags and notes and show whether DNS validation or certificate work still needs attention. The portal also has a separate client-record screen.

## Set up your workspace

1. Sign in to `app.delegatedssl.com`.
2. If the portal asks, create an organization. The portal requires an organization before it can manage client certificates.
3. Open **Domains**, choose **Add Domain**, and enter the domain name.
4. Expand the new domain to copy its CNAME host and value.
5. Add that record at the domain's authoritative DNS provider, or create a verification link so the client can do it.
6. Choose **Verify DNS** or **Recheck status** after the record has propagated.

DelegatedSSL provisions certificates per hostname. The API explicitly rejects wildcard certificate requests.
