# Manage Vehicle Inventory

## What does this do for me?

You can create a tenant-owned vehicle record, track its sales status and price, and attach the media used by a marketplace listing.

## Add one vehicle

1. Open **Inventory** for the selected dealership tenant.
2. Choose a rooftop.
3. Enter a 17-character VIN and a stock number.
4. Add any known year, make, model, trim, odometer, price in cents, and custody location.
5. Choose **Draft**, **Available**, **Reserved**, or **Wholesale**, then select **Add**.

DealerOS opens the new inventory detail page. There you can change status to Draft, Available, Reserved, Sold, Wholesale, or Archived. You can also update price, three-letter currency code, and custody location.

## Import during onboarding

The CSV importer accepts up to 100 records or a 2 MiB file; a file over either limit is rejected with an error rather than truncated. Each row needs `vin` and a stock number column (`stocknumber` or `stock_number`; header case, spaces, underscores and hyphens are ignored). Optional columns are `year`, `make`, `model`, `trim`, `bodystyle`, `drivetrain`, `fueltype`, `transmission`, `exteriorcolor`, `interiorcolor`, `odometermiles`, `pricecents`, `custodylocation` and `currencycode`. When `currencycode` is omitted, DealerOS uses `USD`. Imported units start in Draft status. Unsupported or duplicate columns reject the file.

Quoted fields can contain commas or line breaks. DealerOS validates the complete file before creating inventory, so an invalid row leaves the inventory unchanged.

## Attach media

1. Open an inventory unit.
2. In **Media**, choose a file and classify it as Photo, Video, or Document.
3. Choose Public or Private visibility and set its sort order.
4. Select **Attach**.

The validated file types are JPEG, PNG, WebP, MP4, and PDF, with a maximum size of 25 MB. A listing needs at least one Public media asset before it can publish.
