# Complete the workspace setup

## What does this do for me?

The setup page guides you through workspace creation, administrative access, and billing so you can start using bulk operations.

## 1. Open the setup page

Navigate to **Setup** in the app sidebar. The page shows three steps:

* **Workspace and administrator** — create the workspace and claim the first administrator role.
* **Subscription** — choose a plan before starting paid bulk operations.
* **Create a reviewed change set** — import a CSV after workspace access and billing are ready.

## 2. Create the workspace

1. On the Setup page, select **Create workspace** (or **Claim admin access** if the workspace already exists).
2. The app creates the **Getting started** project, a disabled starter tag governance playbook, and a disabled starter metafield backfill playbook.

The workspace seed is idempotent — running it again does not create duplicate projects or playbooks.

## 3. Choose a plan

1. After the workspace is ready, select **Choose a plan**.
2. Review the available plans and their limits.
3. Select **Start trial** on your chosen plan to begin the 14-day trial.
4. You will be redirected to Shopify's billing confirmation page.

## 4. Dismiss the Dashboard checklist (optional)

The Dashboard's **Finish setting up** reminder is a separate follow-up checklist from the three Setup-page steps above. It tracks:

* **Create a product change set**
* **Run a change with undo protection**
* **Enable a recurring playbook**

Complete these milestones in order, or dismiss the reminder:

1. On the **Dashboard**, open the setup modal or expand the **Finish setting up** banner.
2. Select **Skip for now**.

The skip is saved per installation. If the app is reinstalled, the setup reminder reappears.

## 5. Navigate after setup

After setup is complete, you can use the **Import CSV** button on the Dashboard or the sidebar to create your first change set.
