# Merge orders from the dashboard

## What does this do for me?

The dashboard finds orders that can be combined and lets you merge them into one shipment. When a customer has two or more unfulfilled orders going to the same shipping address in the same currency, the app surfaces them as a candidate.

## Read the overview cards

The top of the dashboard shows four cards:

* **Orders merged** — total orders combined.
* **Merge jobs completed** — total jobs finished successfully.
* **Shipping saved** — shipping refunded, in your shop currency.
* **Ready to merge** — how many candidates are waiting.

If a candidate scan cannot finish in time, **Ready to merge** shows **Unavailable** rather than a misleading zero. A **Merge candidates unavailable** banner offers **Try again**.

## Review a candidate

Under **Merge candidates**, each row shows the customer, the shared shipping address, the orders in the group, and the redundant secondary shipping the app would refund. Badges mark groups with **N orders**, **B2B · \[company]**, or **Requires Pro (\$14.99)** when a group has a cross-location conflict your plan cannot resolve.

1. Select **Review merge** on a candidate.
2. In the **Confirm order merge** modal, choose the **Primary order** — line items from the other orders are added to this one.
3. Add an optional **Merge reason**. It is saved to the primary and secondary order metafields for admin visibility.
4. Select **Merge orders**.

The modal explains the result before you commit: line items move to the primary, secondary orders are cancelled with inventory restocked, and redundant shipping charges are refunded when your plan includes it. On Free, refunds are not automatic and the modal says "Shipping refunds require Basic" instead.

## When a staff member cannot start the merge

If you are not the account owner and the candidate is a B2B company order, the modal asks you to **Request owner approval** instead of merging directly. Only the store owner can start that merge. See [Review B2B merge approvals](https://docs.pcnaid.com/nodes/shopify/order-merge-pro/merchant/guides/review-b2b-approvals.md).

## After you start the merge

A **Merge job ready** banner links to **View job progress**. The job is tracked in **Jobs** while it runs. See [Track merge jobs](https://docs.pcnaid.com/nodes/shopify/order-merge-pro/merchant/guides/track-merge-jobs.md).

You can also start merges without opening the app from **Automations** on Pro or from the admin order pages using the app's extensions.
