# Set up Order Merge Pro

## What does this do for me?

Setup gets Order Merge Pro ready to combine a customer's duplicate orders into one shipment. When it is done, the app shows merge candidates on the dashboard and you can merge them in a few clicks.

## The setup steps

Open **Order Merge Pro** in Shopify admin. The app tracks which setup steps are complete and shows a **Finish setting up: N of M steps left** banner at the top of the dashboard until they are all done. Select **Show steps** to expand the list.

1. **Choose a plan** — Select a paid plan or use developer access. Select **Set up** to open **Billing**.
2. **Set your merge rules** — This step appears only on Pro. Save the automated rules that should identify merge candidates.
3. **Review your first merge candidate** — Complete a manual merge or resolve a B2B approval.

Account owners see a **Set up Order Merge Pro** modal the first time they open the app. It explains that you review a merge candidate and choose the primary order to keep, and that a merge job moves line items, cancels secondary orders, refunds eligible shipping overages, and records the completed relationship in order metafields. Select **Continue** to go to the highlighted step, or **Skip for now** to dismiss it.

Staff who are not account owners see the same progress banner but no setup modal, and the step rows are read-only.

## Finish your first merge

1. On the dashboard, find a group under **Merge candidates**.
2. Select **Review merge**, choose the **Primary order**, and add an optional **Merge reason**.
3. Select **Merge orders**.

The **Review your first merge candidate** step completes after a manual merge finishes as **Completed**, or after a B2B approval request is decided. See [Merge orders from the dashboard](https://docs.pcnaid.com/nodes/shopify/order-merge-pro/merchant/guides/merge-orders.md).

## What counts toward setup

Only real state completes a step. The plan step needs an active paid subscription or developer access. The candidate step counts a completed manual merge or an approved or rejected B2B decision; pending, failed, and system-created jobs do not count.
