# Run A/B experiments on sort strategies

> Create a revenue-per-visitor A/B experiment that compares two sorting algorithms on a collection.

# Run A/B experiments on sort strategies

## What does this do for me?

A/B Experiments let you compare two sorting algorithms on one collection and read a revenue-per-visitor result in the app. This is an Advanced feature.

## 1. Open A/B Experiments

From the Home screen, select **A/B Experiments**, then select **Create experiment**. The **Create A/B experiment** dialog lets you choose a collection and the two sorting algorithms to compare.

## 2. Enable the storefront collector

Enable **Toolkit A/B & Tracking** in the theme editor. The embed reads the assignment, reorders the rendered collection, and records view and purchase metrics. The default grid selector is Dawn's `#product-grid`; other themes can configure their product-card container in the embed settings.

## 3. Review results

The experiments table lists your experiments. Select one to see its revenue-per-visitor summary by variant. Paid-order revenue is attributed through signed cart receipts and the orders-paid webhook.

## 4. Requirements

Both algorithms must have the data they need for a cohort to be counted — for example, margin requires costs for every variant, and revenue and sell-through require stored product signals. See the developer API reference for the full requirements.
