# Build storefront content with the Content Builder

## What does this do for me?

The Content Builder lets you build layouts for a product, collection, or page by adding and reordering blocks from 16 block types. Content is stored in Shopify metafields and metaobjects and rendered on the storefront through a theme app extension.

## 1. Open Content Builder

From the Home screen, select **Content Builder**, or use the **Build content** button on the Home screen.

## 2. Choose the destination

Select the Shopify resource (product, collection, or page) that needs supporting content. The app loads the blocks already saved for that resource.

## 3. Add and arrange blocks

Blocks are added and reordered with the available add and reorder controls. The 16 block types are:

Heading, Text, Image, Button, FAQ, Badge, Banner, Size guide, Rich content, Countdown, Low stock, Social proof, Shop the look, Dynamic metafield, Divider, and Spacer.

Some block types are gated by plan. Paid block types are labeled and disabled for the current plan; select **Compare plans** to upgrade.

## 4. Edit block fields

Each block exposes its own fields — for example a heading block has **Heading text**, an image block has its source and link, and a size guide has rows and columns. Use the on-screen preview to review the layout as you build.

## 5. Save

Select **Save** to persist the blocks for the resource. Saving writes the content as a metaobject referenced from the resource. On the storefront, place the matching theme block to render the content (see the theme blocks guide).
