# Manage referrals and campaigns

## What does this do for me?

The referral program rewards both the referrer and the referred customer, turning your existing members into advocates. Bonus campaigns let you run time-limited point multipliers to boost engagement.

## 1. Set up the referral program

1. In the app sidebar, select **Referrals**.
2. Toggle **Referral program** to enabled.
3. Set the **Points awarded to the referrer** and **Points awarded to the referred friend**.
4. The app generates unique referral URLs and codes for each customer automatically.

## 2. How referrals work

* Customers get a unique referral URL and code, displayed in the storefront loyalty hub and referral widget.
* When a referred friend places their first order, points are awarded to both parties.
* **Anti-fraud protection** includes rate limiting, velocity checks, and self-referral prevention.
* First-order ownership is decided by the order's Shopify time, not webhook arrival order.

## 3. Run bonus campaigns (Pro+)

1. In the app sidebar, select **Referrals > Campaigns**.
2. Select **Create campaign**.
3. Enter a **Name** and **Description**.
4. Set the **Multiplier** (e.g., 2x or 3x points).
5. Choose **Start date** and **End date**.
6. Optionally target specific products, collections, or VIP tiers.
7. Toggle **Active** to start the campaign.

Campaigns appear on the storefront automatically during the scheduled window.

## 4. Track performance

1. In the app sidebar, select **Analytics**.
2. View referral conversion metrics and campaign performance.
3. Use **Cohorts** (Pro+) to segment customers and measure referral impact.
