# Get started with GrowthAgent

## What does this do for me?

This guide walks through installing GrowthAgent and completing the four onboarding steps so the storefront assistant can answer shopper questions.

## Step 1 — Install the app

Open **Storefront Agent** from your Shopify admin. The app guides you through Shopify OAuth and creates your shop record.

## Step 2 — Choose a plan (billing)

The **owner setup modal** appears after installation. Select a plan — **Starter** or **Pro** — and confirm the Shopify subscription. Verified development stores receive Pro access without a charge.

**Starter** includes the base recurring charge and analytics-only AI answer metering. **Pro** adds platform-paid inference through the `managed_ai_answer` usage meter.

To skip setup for now, select **Skip for now**. The warning banner on Home continues showing the remaining steps until all four are complete.

## Step 3 — Sync catalog and policies (knowledge sync)

Open **Store knowledge** from the app navigation and select **Sync catalog & policies**. The app imports product information, store policies, and page content so the assistant can answer store-specific questions.

Knowledge sync requires billing to be complete first.

## Step 4 — Publish the storefront assistant

In the Shopify Theme Editor, add the **Storefront Agent Chat** app block. Confirm that **Enable chat** is selected and enter the chat service URL (ending in `/chat`). Ask one question on your storefront to confirm the assistant is live.

## After setup

Once all four steps are complete, the warning banner and setup modal disappear. The Home dashboard shows AI answer activity for the last 30 days and recent shopper conversations. If a metric or conversation list cannot load, use its **Try again** action.
