# Customer Gate webhooks

Customer Gate's Shopify app subscription delivers lifecycle, billing, and mandatory privacy webhook topics to the production route `POST /webhooks/shopify`.

## Subscribed topics

The app-managed subscription sends these topics (from `apps/customer-gate/shopify.app.toml`):

| Topic | Purpose |
| - | - |
| `app/uninstalled` | Handle merchant uninstall and retention. |
| `app_subscriptions/update` | Keep the billing projection and trial state in sync. |
| `shop/update` | Refresh the primary storefront domain and identity. |
| `customers/data_request` | Compile and deliver a customer data export. |
| `customers/redact` | Delete a customer's application records and documents. |
| `shop/redact` | Delete an uninstalled shop's records while retaining a delivery record. |

## Delivery behavior

Webhook requests are verified against the exact request bytes before any database query or application side effect; a bad signature is rejected. Each delivery is atomically claimed by webhook ID so retries finish the same immutable operation even if the tenant changes. Tenant identity is bound to the signed body identity, not to unsigned headers.
