# Terms

## 1. The service

ConsentAI ("the app") is provided by Pcnaid Inc. ("Pcnaid", "we") to Shopify merchants ("you", "the merchant"). The app adds a Terms & Conditions consent checkbox to your storefront and records evidence of each shopper's consent. Recording a consent event does not itself review, draft, or guarantee the legal sufficiency of your own terms or privacy policy — that remains your responsibility as the merchant.

## 2. Plans, billing, and trials

The Free plan has no charge. Pro and Advanced (monthly or annual) are billed through Shopify's Billing API and include a 14-day free trial, subject to Shopify's standard one-trial-per-shop platform policy. You can change plans or cancel a paid subscription at any time from the app's Billing page; downgrading to Free cancels the active paid subscription (prorated per Shopify's billing rules) and reduces the admin UI's visible consent history to the Free plan's 7-day window — the underlying consent evidence itself is not deleted by a downgrade.

## 3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of the consent text and policy links you configure, for having a lawful basis to require the checkbox on your storefront, and for how you use the consent evidence the app produces. The app is a record-keeping tool, not legal advice.

## 4. Availability

We aim to keep the app and its storefront checkbox available, but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Planned or emergency maintenance, and dependencies on Shopify's own platform availability, can cause temporary interruptions. Service status is posted at [status.pcnaid.com](https://status.pcnaid.com).

## 5. Data handling

What the app collects, retains, and does with shopper and merchant data is described in the [Privacy Policy](https://docs.pcnaid.com/nodes/shopify/consentai/merchant/help/privacy.md), including how GDPR/CCPA data-subject requests are handled.

## 6. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pcnaid Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app, including reliance on consent evidence in a legal or regulatory proceeding. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

## 7. Termination

Uninstalling the app does not itself delete your data — Shopify's `shop/redact`  webhook performs that deletion, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms or Shopify's own policies.

## 8. Changes to these terms

Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
