# Create and manage a campaign

## What does this do for me?

A campaign is a scheduled promotion. You choose which products are involved, when it starts and ends, and what the app does at each boundary — publish or unpublish products, activate or deactivate a discount, apply price edits, show a popup, send an email, and switch themes. When the campaign ends, the app restores what it changed.

## Create a campaign

1. On the Dashboard, select **Create campaign**.
2. Under **Campaign details**, enter a **Campaign name** and choose **Start date & time** and **End date & time**. Times are interpreted in the shop-local timezone shown below the fields.
3. Under **Audience**, optionally choose a **Shopify customer segment**. Any segment defined in the Shopify admin is available. This is required if you send a campaign email.
4. Under **Products**, enter a **Search products** term or leave it blank to browse active products, then select **Search**. Use **Add** to select products and **Remove** to deselect them. You must select at least one active product.
5. Under **Discount code**, enable **Add a discount code** and set the **Discount code**, **Discount type** (Percentage or Fixed amount), and value. Turn on **Apply to entire store instead of only selected products** to target the whole store rather than only the selected products.
6. Optionally enable any of the gated steps below, then choose **Save as draft** or **Create & schedule**.

When you **Create & schedule**, the app sets the campaign to **SCHEDULED**. Choosing **Save as draft** keeps it editable until you are ready to schedule it.

## Pro bulk variant price editing

Under **Pro bulk variant price editing**, enable **Apply a variant-level sale price edit to every selected product variant**. Choose a **Price edit type** (Percentage markdown or Fixed amount markdown) and a **Markdown (%)** or **Markdown amount**. The original price is preserved as the compare-at price and both are restored at the end of the campaign. This requires the Pro plan.

## Advanced smart intent popup

Under **Advanced smart intent popup**, enable **Show a campaign popup after scroll and time heuristics are met**. Set the **Headline**, **Body**, optional **Discount code to display**, **Scroll depth trigger (%)**, and **Time on page trigger (seconds)**. Before scheduling, activate and save the storefront app embed from Settings, and repeat after publishing a new theme. This requires the Advanced plan.

## Advanced campaign email

Under **Advanced campaign email**, enable **Send a campaign email to the selected customer segment**. Choose a segment under **Audience**, then set the **Email subject** and **Email body (HTML supported)**. Emails are sent only to customers who have opted in to email marketing and include your store name, postal address, and a one-click unsubscribe. This requires the Advanced plan and counts against your monthly email allowance.

## Automated promo theme swapping

Under **Automated promo theme swapping**, choose a **Theme to publish at campaign start**. The original theme is restored at the end of the campaign. This requires the Advanced plan and Shopify theme permissions.

## Manage an existing campaign

On the **Campaign detail** page you can:

* **Schedule Campaign** — schedule a draft that is not yet scheduled and has no required approval.
* **Cancel Campaign** — cancel a **SCHEDULED** or **RUNNING** campaign. Cancellation removes queued jobs, deactivates the discount, restores the theme when needed, and unpublishes products the campaign published.
* **Edit** — open the edit form for a **DRAFT** or **SCHEDULED** campaign.
* **Delete** — permanently remove a draft that has never run and is not part of a bundle.

### Approvals (Advanced)

If your store uses approval workflows, a draft can be submitted for review. Only one staff user requests approval and a different staff user approves or requests changes. Editing an approval-managed draft resets its review state, and an approval-managed scheduled campaign must be canceled before it can be edited. Only the Shopify store owner can disable an approval workflow.
