# Choose a plan and billing

## What does this do for me?

The **Billing and plan access** page shows your current subscription and lets you choose a plan and billing cadence. Apex Brand & Event Mgmt uses app-managed billing through the Shopify Billing API.

## Available plans

| Plan | Price | What it includes |
| - | - | - |
| **Free** | \$0/month | Two promo events per month, the campaign calendar, scheduled discount codes, and product publication and visibility windows. |
| **Pro** | $4.99/month or $49.90/year | Everything in Free plus blackout windows, reusable templates, lifecycle alerts, bulk variant-level price editing with automatic compare-at restoration, rollback snapshots, and automated product tagging. |
| **Advanced** | $11.99/month or $119.90/year | Everything in Pro plus multi-store calendars, approval workflows, release bundles, API access and webhooks, Slack notifications, smart intent popups, custom campaign email (up to 5,000 emails per month), and automated promo theme swapping. |

## Choose or change a plan

1. Open **Billing** in the app. If you are on a paid plan, the page shows the current plan, cadence, and status.
2. Under **Plans**, review the plan cards and their feature lists.
3. For a paid plan, choose **Monthly** or **Annual**. The page shows the annual savings and any **14-day free trial** availability.
4. Follow the Shopify checkout to approve the subscription.

Your first paid subscription includes one 14-day free trial. Each shop receives at most one first-paid trial — cancelling, reinstalling, or resubscribing does not start another trial.

Only the store owner can change app billing. Collaborators can review plans but cannot change billing.

## Cancel a paid plan

To return to the Free plan, select **Review downgrade to Free** on the Free card. A confirmation modal names the capabilities you lose and confirms that existing campaign data and one-time trial history are retained. Only the modal's **Cancel paid plan** button cancels the subscription.

## Billing status and recovery

If Shopify's billing status cannot be read, the page labels the current plan as last-known/unverified and pauses plan changes until you select **Reload billing status**. If Shopify confirmed an active plan but the app could not record the one-time trial use, plan changes are also paused; select **Get billing help** if it persists.

Use **Open checkout** if the checkout page cannot open automatically from the embedded admin window.
