# Apex Brand & Event Mgmt quickstart

## What is it?

Apex Brand & Event Mgmt (the codebase calls the app Campaign Conductor) is a Shopify embedded app that lets merchants schedule product launches, flash sales, and promotional campaigns. It handles the full lifecycle — publishing products, activating discounts, applying variant price edits, optional theme switching, smart-intent popups, and custom campaign email — then cleans everything up when the campaign ends.

## Sign-in model

The app embeds in Shopify Admin and authenticates with Shopify OAuth. Embedded requests use Shopify online user sessions, so authorization comes from the authenticated Shopify user. A separately stored offline session remains available to the background worker and webhooks. Billing changes and confirmations require the store account owner. All campaign operations are scoped to the authenticated shop.

## Shopify scopes

The app requests these OAuth scopes (from the Shopify app configuration):

* Product publishing, tagging, and variant price edits: `read_products`, `write_products`
* Publications and discounts: `read_publications`, `write_publications`, `read_discounts`, `write_discounts`
* Customer segments and pixels: `read_customers`, `write_customers`, `read_pixels`, `write_pixels`, `read_customer_events`
* Metaobjects and app proxy: `read_metaobjects`, `write_metaobjects`, `read_metaobject_definitions`, `write_metaobject_definitions`, `write_app_proxy`
* Live Advanced theme scheduling: `read_themes`, `write_themes`

Existing installs must re-consent when the theme grant is added.

## Extensions

The app ships four Shopify extensions:

* **Campaign Conductor storefront** — a theme app extension that provides the smart-intent-popup app embed, loaded through the signed storefront app proxy.
* **Campaign Conductor storefront events** — a web pixel that collects consent-aware storefront events.
* **campaign-segment-action** — an admin UI extension that adds a "launch campaign from segment" action to the customer-segment details page.
* **campaign-conductor-support** — an admin link extension that maps Shopify Admin's native **Get support** action to the authenticated help route.

## Webhooks

The app subscribes to Shopify webhooks including `app/uninstalled`, `shop/update`, `app_subscriptions/update`, and the mandatory compliance topics `customers/data_request`, `customers/redact`, and `shop/redact`. It also receives Resend delivery feedback and storefront pixel and unsubscribe events.

## Public integration points

The externally reachable surface is the public routes, the Shopify webhook handler, the signed storefront app proxy, and the Advanced developer API (`GET`/`POST /api/v1/campaigns`). These are documented in the [API overview](https://docs.pcnaid.com/nodes/shopify/apex-brand-event-mgmt/developer/api/index.md).
