## What does this do for me?

This track shows how to turn on the storefront age gate, choose what happens when a visitor is under age, add document verification before checkout, and verify a customer from Shopify POS.

## Start with the storefront gate

The app uses Shopify-managed installation and opens as an embedded app in Shopify admin. The source repository does not include a public App Store listing URL, so this documentation does not provide one.

After installation:

1. Open **Age Verification** from Shopify admin.
2. From the Dashboard, open the theme editor and activate the **Age Verification** app embed.
3. In **Settings**, enable age verification, choose a verification mode, set the minimum age, and save.
4. Open the storefront and confirm that the date-of-birth gate appears.

## What you can manage

The embedded navigation includes:

* **Dashboard** — totals, verified, pending, blocked or failed checks, and recent verifications.
* **Customers** — sync customers from Shopify, add a customer, search, and filter by verification state.
* **Verifications** — filter verification records by status and open a record.
* **Analytics** — review pass and fail rates and geographic coverage (Pro and above).
* **Billing** — select Free, Pro, or Enterprise and choose monthly or annual billing for paid plans.
* **Settings** — configure the gate, checkout requirement, consent, regional rules, and implemented integrations.
* **Privacy requests** — view customer data exports created from Shopify privacy webhooks (account owner only).
* **Developer** — not a navigation item; open it from **Settings** with **Manage API credentials** to manage Merchant API bearer keys and API webhooks (Enterprise).
* **Audit** — view and export the immutable compliance log on Enterprise.

## Plans implemented in the app

| Enterprise | $9.99 monthly or $99.90 annually | Pro features plus document-backed identity verification, state or province rules, an immutable audit log with CSV export, the Merchant API with bearer keys and API webhooks, and automatic gate-copy translation |

Paid plans have a 14-day trial. Charges are created through Shopify's Billing API. Development stores and explicitly configured test stores use test billing; an ordinary production merchant store uses live billing.
