# Quickstart

## What it is

IDGate Pro is a Shopify embedded app that provides storefront age gating, government-ID and minimum-age verification before checkout, and POS ID verification. It runs as a standalone React Router 7 (framework mode) app.

## App identity

* Partner app name: **IDGate Pro**
* Shopify API version: `2026-07`

## Scopes

The app requests the following access scopes declared in `shopify.app.toml`:

`read_customers`, `write_customers`, `read_products`, `write_products`, `read_metaobjects`, `write_metaobjects`, `read_metaobject_definitions`, `write_metaobject_definitions`, `read_markets`

## Extensions

The app ships three Shopify extensions:

* **Theme app extension** (`extensions/age-verification`): two Liquid blocks — the all-plans age gate (`age-gate.liquid`) and the cart-page ID-verify interlock (`cart-verify.liquid`).
* **Checkout UI extension** (`extensions/checkout-age-gate`): Shopify Plus checkout blocking backstop plus thank-you and customer-account order-status nudges.
* **POS UI extension** (`extensions/pos-age-verify`): register tile, QR modal, and post-purchase account nudge.

## Sign-in model

Admin authentication uses Shopify online sessions with `authenticate.admin`. Staff can review app state; only the Shopify account owner can change billing, compliance policy, integrations, or provider sessions. Storefront requests use HMAC-signed app proxy authentication.

## Public integration points

* **App proxy**: `/apps/age-verification/*` → `/api/proxy/*`, requires valid Shopify app-proxy HMAC signature.
* **Merchant REST API**: `GET /api/v1/verifications` with bearer token authentication (Enterprise).
* **Webhooks**: outbound signed event webhooks for Pro and API lifecycle webhooks for Enterprise.
* **Extension targets**: theme app embed, checkout UI extension, POS UI extension.
