# Generate WhatsApp and SMS Recovery Links

> Create a WhatsApp or SMS deep link from a converted draft order invoice to follow up with a shopper.

# Generate WhatsApp and SMS Recovery Links

## What does this do for me?

After a checkout is converted to a draft order, the app can build a WhatsApp or SMS deep link containing the draft order invoice URL, so you can follow up manually. The app does not send the message on your behalf.

## Before you begin

WhatsApp/SMS deep links require the **Pro \$4.99** plan. Reachable only after the checkout has been converted to a draft order. Customer recovery consent is checked before a link is offered.

## 1. Convert first

1. On **Abandoned checkouts**, select **Convert** on a checkout that has a phone number.
2. Wait for the draft order success banner.

## 2. Generate the link

1. On the converted row, select **WhatsApp/SMS**. On **Free**, the button reads **WhatsApp/SMS (Pro \$4.99)** and links to billing.
2. The app creates the deep link and shows an **Open WhatsApp message** or **Open SMS message** button.
3. Select it to open the messaging app pre-filled with the recovery link.
