# Developer quickstart

Abandoned Cart Pro is a Shopify embedded admin app. It reads abandoned checkouts through the Shopify Admin GraphQL API, converts selected checkouts into editable draft orders with price validation and idempotency, and runs consent-gated recovery messaging. This page orients an integrator or contributor.

## What the app is

* **Runtime:** Node.js with React Router and PostgreSQL through Prisma, deployed as a web service plus a scheduled job.
* **Admin API version:** `2026-01`.
* **Admin UI:** native Polaris web components (`s-*`) with App Bridge; embedded (`embedded = true`).

## Shopify access scopes

The app requests these scopes (from `shopify.app.toml`):

read_orders,write_orders,read_draft_orders,write_draft_orders,read_checkouts,
read_customers,write_customers,read_customer_events,write_pixels,
read_metaobjects,write_metaobjects
```

These map to reading checkouts and orders, creating and updating draft orders, reading and writing customer records and events, activating the web pixel, and reading and writing recovery metaobjects.

## Extensions

* **Web pixel extension** — tracks storefront cart and checkout events and posts them to the app's pixel endpoint. It is configured with an endpoint, shop domain, token, and app ID.
* **Customer segment action extension** — adds an admin action on a Shopify customer segment that applies recovery email and SMS/WhatsApp consent metafields to the segment's members.

The app exposes an unauthenticated health endpoint that verifies database connectivity:
